Research Ethics Policy

KJMHS requires all submitted research involving human participants, human biological material, medical records, clinical data, animals, or sensitive health information to comply with recognized ethical standards.

Authors must confirm that the study was reviewed and approved by an appropriate institutional, local, regional, or national ethics committee before the research was conducted. The ICMJE recommends that authors should seek approval from an independent ethics committee or institutional review board and should be prepared to provide documentation when requested by editors.

Human Research

For studies involving human participants, authors must include a statement confirming:

Name of the approving ethics committee.
Approval number or reference, where available.
Date of approval, where available.
Confirmation that the study complied with ethical principles for human research.
Confirmation that informed consent was obtained, or that consent was waived by the ethics committee when appropriate.

Animal Research

For studies involving animals, authors must state that animal care and experimental procedures were approved by the relevant ethics committee and conducted in accordance with accepted standards for animal welfare.

Clinical Trials

Clinical trials should be registered in a recognized clinical trial registry before participant recruitment whenever applicable. The trial registration number should be included in the manuscript.

Research Misconduct

KJMHS does not tolerate fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, inappropriate authorship, or manipulation of images, data, peer review, or citations. Suspected misconduct will be investigated according to recognized publication ethics procedures.
